Na sua fase  “4” Beyoncé não tem sido nada menos do que polêmica. Mas não polêmica porque ela resolveu cantar sobre religião ou fazer clipes com mensagens subliminares, e sim por ter escolhido um caminho totalmente diferente do que o mundo inteiro esperava.

Por um descuido da Sony o seu quarto cd acabou vazando mais de 1 mês antes do lançamento para as mãos de algumas pessoas que acabaram divulgando o disco para o público geral 3 semanas antes do lançamento. Bey deu a declaração no Facebook dizendo que apesar de não ser assim que ela gostaria que seus fãs ouvissem sua música (através de um vazamento prematuro) ela fica feliz que a resposta deles tem sido positiva. Aliás a Sony/Columbia tem administrado muito mal o “4″, ou vai ver é isso que ela quer. Até agora foram pouquíssimas peformances, muitas capas de revista apenas (como a W que vou postar mais pra frente) e ela já foi pra Europa promover-se por lá. :S

Ela realmente resolveu surpreender todo mundo ao lançar um disco com predominância de baladas e midtempos enquanto 90% dos contemporâneos dela atacou a música dance, e na última edição da publicação britânica Dazed And Confused ela falou sobre o assunto, dizendo que no ponto em que sua carreira está, depois de tudo que ela já alcançou, não tem porque ficar na zona de conforto de sempre e resolveu fazer o que ninguém está fazendo, explorar seu som:

“This part of my life is all about embracing change and going to the next level, taking risks and showing my bravery. Not being safe. Not doing the song that everyone else on pop radio sounds like. Basically, what everyone else is doing, unless it’s something that’s natural for me. I want to do something completely different. I feel like I’ve earned that right. Risks excite me.”

Minha reação inicial foi a de todo mundo “cadê os batidão”? Mas depois de ouvir o disco umas 5 vezes já tinha entendido o que ela quis dizer com evoluir seu som e não ficar lançando as mesmas músicas sempre. A evolução de seu trabalho como vocalista foi enorme e o cd ter vazado muito antes da divulgação começar com certeza foi um problemão, porque deixou todo mundo com uma interrogação na testa, já que ao contrário de criar hype falando 6 meses sobre um álbum ela só se abre na época de seu lançamento. Agora estão começando a vir as informações de sua própria boca.

Pouco antes do lançamento do disco eu divulgarei minha resenha e explicarei porque acho que o disco vai ser um dos mais aclamados de sua carreira e provavelmente o menos vendido. Mas por enquanto já digo que uma das minhas favoritas é de longe “Party” com o Andre 3000 (aqui ó), aliás ainda não entendi como “Party” e “End of Time” não foram single de cara.

Além de responder às perguntas dos repórteres da Dazed e Confused, Beyoncé também respondeu perguntas dos estilistas dos looks que ela usou nas fotos: Riccardo Tisci, Tom Ford, Stefano Pilati e Gareth Pugh. Marc Jacobs e Haider Ackerman também tiveram peças na revista mas não perguntaram nada.

Gareth Pugh: You were born four days after me, which means you’re a Virgo. What Virgo characteristics do you have?

Beyonce: I am a Virgo to the tee! I wonder what signs the other designers are? I like to think outside the box. I don’t believe in the answer ‘no’. I am extremely driven and extremely critical – sometimes overly critical. Sometimes it is one of the things that I have to work on. I am a control freak. I pay attention to details. When I do something I do it 100 per cent. I have high expectations of myself and expect the exact same thing of everyone around me. I’ve always been that way. I am all or nothing.

Ricardo Tisci: What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Beyonce: Usually I try to stay quiet and meditate. Not literally meditate. I mean lay in bed and think about everything I need to do, plus everything I learned from the previous day. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve literally fallen asleep with the Blackberry in my hand because I’m up answering emails, coming up with marketing plans and looking at radio numbers. It’s really sad! My family is like, ‘Oh my God!’ I literally have pictures of me knocked out with my finger on the computer space bar!

Tom Ford: Are you shy?

Beyonce: I used to be very shy. I don’t think I’m shy any more. I get really uncomfortable when I’m not performing on the stage or on a photo shoot and have too many people looking at e expecting a performance. It make me kind of shut down and become shy. I’m happier to talk to people and try to learn something from them. I’m better at one-on-one conversations. I do become shy and a bit intimidated when it’s a large group of people, I definitely retreat. At a big dinner I just hope that no one expects anything from me. I wish I’d disappear.

Stefano Pilati: Do you think a woman has the same opportunity for success as a man in today’s world?

Beyonce: I think we do. I think the world is changing and it has changed. We still have you know, ways to go. But I think women are so different now and we have our standards and we don’t accept anything less than the same opportunities. I know I don’t. That’s what my whole message is in my career. I remember being in Japan after I wrote ‘Independent Woman’, and these young teenage girls were telling me that the song, to them, made it uncool not to have your own job, your own career, and your own mind. It’s inspiring to know that something can affect pop culture in that way, and the way women think. Sometimes there are certain things that we have to work harder for, that we have to work double the amount for. Sometimes we don’t get the credit. But we’re getting there.

Alguns sites noticiaram que o cd seria postergado para setembro para que ela trabalhasse mais músicas, mas era só um boato, Graças a Deus, porque teria sido um desastre se Bey fizesse isso. Ia virar uma bola de neve de negatividade e só iria piorar a situação. Se essa é a sua vontade agora trabalha esse bootylicious enorme aí e vai fazer o povo ouvir suas músicas.
